Energy flow analysis complements momentum analysis

Kinetic energy and momentum of falling mass are different aspects of the same phenomenon

proportional to: conversion:
momentum velocity preserved; transferable to other mass
kinetic energy velocity squared convertable to other forms of energy

Large energy sinks in play during Towers' destruction:

  • Pulverization of concrete
  • Bending and breaking of steel
  • Lateral acceleration of mass

Collapse theory supposes only energy source was gravitational potential energy. All energy sinks had to be satisfied by kinetic energy of falling mass derived from liberation of gravitational potential energy.

Conversion of kinetic energy of downward movement into energy sinks would require transfer of momentum from falling mass, resuling in longer total collapse times than momentum conservation model predicts.
