Limited Extent of South Tower Fires
Fires in the South Tower:
- Appeared to dwindle over time
- Never spread to opposite side of building
- Emitted darkening smoke
- Lacked Visible Flames moments before collapse
- Were described by
Chief Oreo Palmer on 78th floor
as "two isolated pockets"
Ladder 15, we've got two isolated pockets of fire.
We should be able to knock it down with two lines
NIST conceals that firefighters had reached the crash zone.
Any attempts to mitigate the fires would have been fruitless ...
It would take hours to accumulate sufficient people and equipment
to access the impact zones.
