Fires in the Twin Towers From the South

Two Photos of the Twin Towers on Fire From the South

These photographs were apparently taken shortly after the South Tower impact. The last of these photographs shows extensive fires on the southwest side of the North Tower, spread over as many as four floors. There do not seem to be any photographs of the opposite side of the tower showing fires anywhere near as extensive, and in fact the impact hole on that side went dark shortly after the collision. That the fires would be greatest on the side opposite the impact makes sense, since most of the jet fuel probably ended up there.
